CDM CO-ORDINATOR SERVICES
Crossroad Health and Safety Systems Limited provide a wide range of safety related services from training in first aid and safety management to development of health and safety policies and safety management systems.
Our project safety department offers services to individuals and organisations that are having construction work done which falls under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
ALL construction work carried out in the UK comes under these regulations and any project with a construction phase lasting more than 30 working days or involving more than 500 person days requires the appointment of a CDM Co-ordinator.
Our Team of qualified and experienced Co-ordinators work with you from the early stages of design right through to the delivery of the Health and Safety file (&HIP) at the end of the construction phase.
What is a “CDM Coordinator”?
The CDM co-ordinator (CDM-C) is the person who takes on responsibility for ensuring that the client and all the designers and contractors on the project carry out their functions with consideration for the health and safety of those who will build the structure and those who will maintain and use the structure once it is handed over.
The CDM-C has a number of vital roles.
These range from ensuring that the proper authorities are notified to working with designers on design risk management and importantly in making sure that the right people, get the right information, at the right time.
The major advantages of employing a competent CDM Co-ordinator include:
1. Compliance with legal obligations
2. Reduction of risk
a. Less unexpected delays
b. Fewer accidents
3. Less business disruption
4. Better cost certainty
5. Smoother information flow
6. Higher standards on sites
7. Production of high quality Health and safety files
8. Provision of legal and risk management advice.
Crossroad Health and Safety Systems have experience in a wide range of construction projects such as:
- Major inner city redevelopment of Brownfield sites and construction of luxury apartments blocks (£35million)
- Roll out of retail new builds and refurbishments (£9 million)
- Inner city refurbishment and new build projects including residential and commercial units (£450k)
- Dock yard refurbishment (£1.2million)
- Factory extension and factory site redevelopment (£950k)
All our co-ordinators are professionally qualified members of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and are experienced in both health and safety and construction management. In order to carry out this role we are subject to a program of continual professional development which means we are always up to date with the latest methods and techniques in construction and design management.
Don’t delay, your CDM Co-ordinator must be appointed as early as possible during the initial design phase.
